Charles Hampshire LLB (Hons)

Auctioneer, Valuer & Partner

Charles Hampshire

Based at the Old Vicarage in Carmarthen, Charles is our regional auctioneer and valuer for West Wales and visits clients in Swansea, West Wales and up to Aberystwyth.

Following in his fathers’ footsteps, Charles is a second-generation auctioneer and valuer covering the beautiful South West regions of Wales for Rogers Jones Auctioneers. His enviable patch includes Swansea and Gower, Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire, and Ceredigion. Charles is a general valuer with specialist interest in jewellery, watches, coins, wines & whisky and comics.

Following completion of a Law degree from Aberystwyth University in 2008, Charles has lived and worked in West Wales residing just outside of Carmarthen with his wife and two children.

In 2010 Charles won the coveted National Association of Valuers and Auctioneers (NAVA) ‘Auctioneer of the Year’ competition during his maiden year on the rostrum. He is also a previous committee member and consultant trainer for NAVA, promoting professionalism and high standards throughout our industry and assisting new auctioneers in becoming qualified, skilled professionals.

His most memorable find to date was a horde of vintage, prestige sports watches discovered during a routine visit in Swansea. The collection included six Rolex models and examples by Breitling, Cartier, and Omega. The sensational group sold for in excess of £100,000 when they came under his gavel in Cardiff.

Away from the saleroom, Charles is an avid Arsenal and Exeter Chiefs fan, a competent squash player who loves to swing a club on the local golf course. His favourite pastime is spending time with his young family on the glorious beaches of West Wales.
