Auction Review: June 2026
Number of auctions: 4
Number of lots sold: 1,214
Total hammer price: £334,655
2nd June: Cardiff Monthly
Cardiff's auction featured an eclectic mix of lots, from an articulated silver swordfish and a treen powderer to an osteology model.
There were some welcome surprises on the day, including a three-way bidding battle between buyers from Italy, the UK and the USA for a Sèvres-style French porcelain casket, which achieved a hammer price of £1,000 against an estimate of £250–350.
The top lot of the sale was a George VI silver table service, which exceeded its estimate to sell for £6,900.

9th June: Chester Monthly
The monthly auction from our newest auction venue featured treen, antique furniture, silver, art, and a large collection of studio pottery by Willie Carter.
TOP LOT: LARGE SILVER PRESENTATION SALVER

25th June: Jewellery, Coins & Watches
Our bi-monthly Luxury Jewellery, Coins & Watches sale saw plenty of interest, with several fine Rolex watches among the highlights of the day.
One lot that really stood out was a rare Wedgwood anti-slavery medallion. Produced in the late 18th century and distributed at abolitionist meetings, these medallions are thought to be among the earliest examples of memorabilia created to support a charitable cause. Buyers clearly recognised its significance, with determined bidding pushing the hammer price to £2,800 against an estimate of £300-500.

30th June: Colwyn Bay Monthly
Our final sale of June brought the month to a close with the first part of a fascinating single-owner collection of 18th and early 19th century pottery. Among the highlights were a creamware mug decorated with a view of Liverpool Lighthouse and the top lot of the day, an English Delft charger featuring a ballooning scene.
Look out for part two of the collection in our August Colwyn Bay Monthly sale.
