The Welsh Sale is a hugely popular auction of Welsh Art and Welsh porcelain, pottery and selected Welsh items. The sale has been operating for over 10 years in its current format and has in that time generated some record prices. We have in depth knowledge and expertise in the foremost Welsh artists, Swansea & Nantgarw porcelain and Llanelly pottery. We were the valuers of Sir Kyffin Williams’s estate in 2006 and his art work is a prominent feature of every Welsh Sale as is Donald McIntyre, Josef Herman, Graham Sutherland, Gwilym Prichard, C F Tunnicliffe, John Piper and most of the well-known 20th Century Welsh painters.

    DYLAN THOMAS exceptionally rare copy of Swansea Grammar School Magazine, July 1929 crediting Dylan Thomas as sub-editor and with an early humorous poem entitled `The Ballad of a Salad`. Thomas is recorded in the Magazine as the winner of the Quarter Mile and One Mile (under 15s) at sports-day and that he took the leading-role as Edward Stanton in John Drinkwater`s `Abraham Lincoln` for the school Dramatic Society - he can be seen in a full-page photograph of the production. To accompany this rare School Magazine there is also a copy of the production programme - with Thomas listed in the cast.     DYLAN THOMAS four exceptionally rare Swansea Grammar School Magazines, each containing some of the poet`s earliest published material including an edition of July 1930 which Thomas co-edits, he contributes a poem, co-writes a piece on Shakespeare and writes a remarkably precocious essay on The Films. An edition of April 1931, edited by Thomas and he is mentioned three times in `School Notes` and in which he can be seen in a cast photo for `Strife`, he is singled out for praise in a review of this production. Together with a Thomas influenced edition of July 1931, in which Dylan Thomas is instrumental as editor, contributor of three poems, two parodies and a short play.
