Steve developed an interest in antiques and collectables about 40 years ago after meeting his future wife and searching for things to set up home, this soon became a passion for the quality and diversity of all things past. The passion evolved into a business with the attendance of over 40 international and UK antique and collectors fairs annually, two shops and various lock ups, buying trips to France and the final six years prior to joining Rogers Jones Co, packing and shipping containers to the American South East coast.
Joining as a broad spectrum valuer and cataloguer his passion remains strong, with a never ending hunger to know more, after attending countless sales as a buyer at Colwyn Bay since opening Steve knows all the principals and staff well and has knitted in comfortably to the busy saleroom since joining the firm in 2014.
He does annoyingly to some, never know when to stop and having ongoing projects outside office hours literally means work is almost a hobby too. Steve and his wife embarked on researching their family trees a few years ago and a lot of free time is spent heading off to places of discovery (and graveyards).
The list of notable lots for Steve is endless and nothing to do with high or low values, the excitement of the hunt, the finding of rare or unusual, the researching if necessary, they are always the best bits and finally the price, being the icing on the cake.
He and his grown up family have lived and breathed beautiful North Wales all their lives (save lots of travelling) and would not have it any other way.
