We are delighted to offer a comprehensive range of high quality valuation services to suit your needs, including home visits for your full house contents. For portable items we offer in-house valuations on Monday mornings (booking required).
With fifty combined years of valuing experience and access to our extensive archive we can provide comprehensive and unbiased advice on all aspects of your valuation requirements.

Professional Fees
Valuations are free of charge when considering consigning to our auction, otherwise our fees are £80 per hour, including travel, time at property plus document preparation at our offices.
Valuations for Sale Purposes
Inspections and valuations for the purposes of sale at auction are undertaken free of charge. We cover all sectors of the fine art, antique and collectables markets, and keep fully up to date with market developments in these specialist areas. Our database of past sales results gives us a unique and invaluable source of empirical data, ensuring that sellers benefit from the most current price information available.
Probate Valuations
We offer a prompt, professional and confidential service to executors of deceased estates. Our full probate service includes:
- Compilation of a detailed inventory and valuation of inventoried items, including digital photography if appropriate.
- Immediate removal and storage of valuable items.
- Complete house clearance.
- Identification and dispersal of bequests.
- Removal and sale of items where appropriate
Family Division
We regularly undertake valuations for family division of property for reasons other than probate. Our service includes a full valuation of the items, and recommendations for equitable division or sale of the items at auction as required.
Insurance Valuations
An up-to-date valuation of your precious belongings will ensure that, in the unfortunate event of having to make a claim, the correct compensation can be made. The value of an antique or an item of jewellery rarely moves in line with inflation and can change dramatically over time with factors such as demand, fashion, and deterioration all affecting price. Regular and accurate valuation of these items will greatly encourage the speedy settlement of any insurance claim.

We can provide an illustrated valuation service for full house contents or specific items. We can also provide a re-valuation service at an agreed interval so that items can be re-assessed and addition or deletions noted on an amended inventory.
Private Treaty Valuations
For items or collections of particular importance we can offer a confidential private treaty service. The service includes a full valuation of the item(s), a detailed analysis of the comparable marketplace and potential purchasers, and negotiation of the final terms of sale.
Valuations for Tax Purposes
Selling or inheriting fine art and antique items of value can have significant tax implications. Our specialists can offer expert advice on all aspects of taxation regarding the ownership or sale of works of art, antiques, jewellery and collectables.
Our services include valuations for the purposes of calculating Capital Gains Tax and Inheritance tax, and advice on gift and leaseback arrangements.
